Seminole County Commissioners Celebrate Investiture Ceremony

Seminole County Commissioners Andria Herr, Bob Dallari, and Lee Constantine were re-elected to office this month. An investiture ceremony was held last week to mark the beginning of their new terms. Commissioners Dallari and Constantine took the oath of office surrounded by family, friends, and colleagues.

District 1 Commissioner Dallari was first elected to the Board of County Commissioners in November 2004. He resides in Oviedo, where he served for eight years on the Oviedo City Council. A strong community advocate, Commissioner Dallari serves on numerous local boards, including the Kids House of Seminole. “I can’t thank the citizens enough for allowing me to serve all these years, and allowing me another four years,” Commissioner Dallari said. “It’s truly a humbling experience to serve you, the citizens of Seminole County.”

District 3 Commissioner Lee Constantine has represented Florida as a public servant for more than 40 years, including the Altamonte Springs City Commission, Florida House of Representatives, and Florida Senate. He was first elected to Seminole County Commission in 2012. “For every one of you, I only have one thing to say,” Commissioner Constantine said. “In your heart, do what’s right. I may not always be right, but always – in my heart – I do what I believe is right. Thank you very much for this honor.”

Commissioner Herr was unable to attend the ceremony due to previously scheduled family obligations. District 5 Commissioner Andria Herr was first elected to the Commissioner’s seat in 2020. In addition to her role on the Board, she is an Executive Vice President for Hylant and a recipient of numerous awards, including the Orlando Women’s Executive Council’s Business Women of the Year. "While I was unable to attend the ceremony, I am deeply grateful to the citizens of Seminole County for their continued trust and support,” said Commissioner Herr. “It is an honor to serve this community, and I remain committed to working tirelessly to ensure Seminole County continues to be a place we are all proud to call home.

Seminole County Celebrates National Recycling Day

Seminole County proudly celebrated National Recycling Day on Friday, November 15, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability and economic impact. Understanding the do’s and don’ts of curbside recycling is a small way for residents to contribute to a healthier future for our community. Additionally, Seminole County continues to expand its approach to recycling, thinking beyond traditional curbside collection.

Holiday Recycling

Residents are encouraged to recycle household waste this holiday season, including electronics. These items can be brought to the Household Hazardous Waste Tunnel at the Central Transfer Station. Accepted electronics include batteries (including lithium), computers, monitors, printers, phones, and televisions.

Used cooking oil from large holiday meals can also be brought to the HHW tunnel for disposal. Pouring fats, oils, or grease down the drain can clog plumbing and block pipes, while also damaging the environment by contaminating water systems and harming wildlife habitats.

Seminole County Clerk Introduces Hope Card Program

The Seminole County Clerk of Court & Comptroller is proud to launch the Hope Card Program, a new initiative designed to support individuals who have been issued final injunctions for protection. This program provides a physical or electronic wallet-sized card that can be presented to law enforcement to verify protective court orders quickly and accurately.

By using a Hope Card, individuals can help reduce confusion, prevent miscommunication, and improve law enforcement's ability to handle cases effectively. The cards serve as a valuable resource for final injunctions, offering several benefits:

  • Immediate Verification: Quickly confirm protective orders with law enforcement.
  • Enhanced Safety: Provide peace of mind and clarity in critical situations.
  • Accessible Support: Conveniently carry proof of a court order.

Hope Cards are available in the county where the protection order was originally filed.
