Seminole County Hosts Veterans Stand Down and Resource Fair |
|
The Seminole County Veterans Services Division is proud to partner with the Florida Department of Health and leading local 501(c) organizations to host the Veterans Stand Down Event and Resource Fair on Saturday, February 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Florida Department of Health in Seminole County, 400 W. Airport Blvd., Sanford.
This important event is designed to support homeless, at-risk, and precariously housed Veterans, as well as any Veteran in need of additional resources. Attendees will have access to a variety of essential services, including:
- Medical care and dental screenings
- Haircuts and personal care
- Food and nutrition support
- Employment opportunities
- Health and wellness items for unhoused Veterans, provided by Seminole County Community Health
The Veterans Stand Down Event is a one-stop resource fair aimed at connecting Veterans with the services they need to stay supported. |

Code Enforcement Connects with Students |
|
Seminole County Code Enforcement took community outreach into the classroom, meeting with students to share what they do and how their work impacts local neighborhoods.
Officers were invited to speak with the student government class at Tuskawilla Middle School in Oviedo on Tuesday, Febuary 17, about their careers.
“It’s important to talk to students because it’s a career path many of them may not know about,” said Jon Martin, Code Enforcement Division Manager. “We also like to share what we do in the community to help keep neighborhoods safe.”
Through a collaborative effort with the Sheriff's Office, Seminole County transitioned Code Enforcement operations to the County's Development Services Department on October 1, 2025, to streamline coordination with building, planning, and zoning services. Since then, the team has conducted more than 1,200 inspections, including re-inspections, with a focus on solutions-based enforcement and voluntary compliance.

Seminole County Launches Water Conservation Rebate Program |
|
Seminole County has launched a new Water Conservation Rebate Program to encourage water-efficient upgrades that protect groundwater resources and help residents reduce utility costs. The program is available to customers served by Seminole County Utilities.
Eligible customers can now apply for rebates on qualifying fixtures, including high-efficiency toilets, showerheads and faucets, as well as irrigation improvements.
The program is funded jointly by Seminole County and the St. Johns River Water Management District. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. |

Seminole County Fire Department’s Engine 27 visited Arden Courts, an assisted living facility in Winter Springs, to share some Valentine’s Day fun.
Firefighters joined residents for an afternoon dance party, lifting spirits and spreading smiles. |

Garden Expo and Plant Sale |
|
UF/IFAS Extension Services is hosting its annual Garden Expo and Plant Sale where attendees can explore more than 40 garden and wildlife vendors, demonstration gardens, a butterfly experience tent, scavenger hunt, and more. UF/IFAS Extension Seminole County 4-H will also be attending, offering educational hands-on activities.
