Seminole County Marks America's 250th with Liberty Tree Planting |
|
Seminole County officials and community members recently gathered to honor our nation's history and freedom with a Liberty Tree Planting Ceremony and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence by the Sallie Harrison Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Held on the anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence on July 8, 1776, the ceremony commemorated the enduring principles of liberty, self-government, and civic pride that continue to shape our nation today.
The ceremony established a lasting legacy, symbolizing the County's commitment to preserving both the freedoms and natural resources entrusted to future generations. Residents can find the Liberty Tree growing alongside the County's Lily Lake Garden on Senator Lane at the Five Points Complex. |

New State Law Updates Building Permit Process |
|
Florida's new building permitting law, House Bill 803, took effect July 1, bringing changes to the permitting and inspection process. HB 803 requires building inspection fees to reflect the actual cost of inspections rather than the total cost of construction and creates permit exemptions for certain qualifying residential projects under $7,500.
To comply with the new state requirements, Seminole County has updated its building permit fees. |
